Why would a god allow criminals to use his name for profit?

wouldn't a god at the very least stop those priests from molesting kids,why not put a stop to poor gullible people giving their money to priests who only use it on themselves.and you can save the "they'll pay for it later "nonsense,why let the ones you love follow such a criminal when all they are trying to do is praise you.
