What was the name of this child killed duringthe civil rights movement?

I am writing a paper on double jeopardy in the US Consitution and one of the stories I would like to bring up is this child ed in the South during the 1960s I think. Two white men killed him and were acquitted, and later admitted to the but could not be retried. Anyone have any info on this?
